The jar to start with
₦8,500
Our everyday honey from the grassland hives of Oke Ogun: golden, floral and runny.
From hive to jar
Grassland in bloom
After the rains the savanna flowers and the bees work from first light.
Capped and ready
When the bees cap the comb with wax, the honey is ripe. We take only what the colony can spare.
Frames out, by hand
Frames are lifted, uncapped and spun the same day.
Strained, not heated
Through a fine sieve and into glass. Nothing added, nothing taken out but wax.
Honey colour
Honey's colour comes from the flowers. Lighter honeys taste delicate; darker ones are deeper and richer.
In figures
The jar most people start with.
Side by side
The same size jar from grassland, highland and forest edge.
